Beaches

Lourinhã is known for its beautiful coastline & pollution free waters. With 11 beaches to choose from, you can find great surf spots or sunbathing stretches.  The closest beaches are Praia de Peralta and Praia de Areal... both in walking distance of the homes.

Connect with Nature

Discover a wide range of walking trails ..by the beach or through beautiful countryside, dotted with old windmills. Some of the trails go through wooded areas and open up to paths along the coastline. 

Surfing

The Silver Coast is a prime destination for Surfing. With many excellent local surf schools whether you are a beginner or experienced, you will be in good hands. Many offer pickups from our homes and provide wetsuits and equipment.

Wind / Kite Surfing

Obidos lagoon is the idyllic spot for beginners and advanced alike. There are several licensed schools which can take you to that extra level.  For experienced riders, Peralta Beach (above photo) offers excellent conditions and challenges.

Golf

The Silver Coast is favoured by golf enthusiasts as the courses are quieter, cheaper and some better than the Algarve!   Praia D'El Rey is one of Europe's best courses and just 30 mins away.  There are several others with excellent reviews within a 1 hour drive and range from true links to mainland courses.  

Paddle & Tennis

Lourinhã offers both Tennis and Paddle courts just 5 minutes drive from our homes. Both also have licenced coaches if you are looking to improve your game

Dinosaur Park

Dino Park is a theme park dedicated to the history of dinosaurs and is the largest open-air museum in Portugal. Enjoy this educational trip which is not just for the young ones. More

Horse Riding

The Equestrian Center in Torres Vedras (20 mins) offers lessons to suit all levels and interests. You can also go along local trails and take in the stunning coastal scenery.

Berlengas-Diving

The Berlengas Archipelago consists of 3 groups of small islands about 10km offshore Peniche. The Islands have their own particular fauna and flora, and the waters offer diving ...there are even old shipwrecks in these waters.
